"A Must-Have for ALL Chicken Keepers!"

This book is the best by far of any that I have read on the subject of backyard chicken keeping. Each chapter is well organized and succinctly written to engage and educate those who are interested in establishing a flock of their own. The detailed illustrations and photographs add another dimension to this instructional guide and are a quick visual reference when encountering injured and sick birds. The book itself is very durable with a wipe clean cover. The pages are thick and glossy to withstand the many times that this book will be read and referenced over the years. Much thought went into the design and layout of the book and it was well worth the wait. If you have friends or family interested in starting their own backyard flock, this is a wonderful introduction into the world of chickens and poultry management! Thank you, Kathy! Looking forward to the release of your SECOND book - Lifestyles of the Chicken Famous: The Chicken Chick's Flock at Home and Play available for pre-order now. : )

"Chicken Keeping made easy for us busy folks"

Truly, I wish I had known about the Chicken Chick before I set up for and got my chickens. I found her about 3 months into my chicken keeping and revamped everything. I thought I had the set up figured out with all of the information out there, but there is an EASIER WAY! Save yourself time, money, effort and headache and make chicken keeping simple. The sand, the chicken waterer, the feeder all saved me money in the long run. The information has made a world of difference to me and my flock. We've been able to tend to minor issues and know when something is major now. The information is backed by science and poultry vets and packed neatly for you in this cute, informational book with helpful photos. I have recommended this book to so many people in the Bay Area looking into chicken keeping. It doesn't have to be complicated but there is also more to it than just putting some chickens behind some chicken wire. If someone says their chickens are a constant hassle, they haven't read Kathy's book. Just get it. Keep it handy for reference so you know what to do when something needs to be done. Happy reading and easy chicken keeping!

I am a huge fan of The Chicken Chick and her common sense approach to raising chickens. Her no-nonsense, easy to follow approach gave me the confidence to start with backyard chickens of my own and I am so happy to have her book as a resource at home. The book is well written, and the photos of her flock are wonderfully fun.
